Eddie S. Glaude Jr. is a scholar who speaks to the black and blue in America. His most well-known books, Democracy in Black: How Race Still Enslaves the American Soul, and In a Shade of Blue: Pragmatism and the Politics of Black America, take a wide look at black communities and reveal complexities, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for hope.



Aneeka A. Henderson Author


Aneeka Ayanna Henderson is an Assistant Professor at Amherst College in the Sexuality, Women’s and Gender Studies Department. As an interdisciplinary scholar of contemporary African American literature and cultural production, she also holds affiliations in the Black Studies, English, and Film and Media Studies Departments. She is the author of Veil & Vow: Marriage Matters in Contemporary African American Culture, published by the University of North Carolina Press | Gender and American Culture Series.
